Oyster is 9 years old!!

 

On the 6th April 2023 Oyster Financial Planning will have be trading for 9 years! Where has that time gone?

I myself, Michael Osman have been advising for 26 years of which 9 have been at Oyster.

We have certainly seen some changes and consistent growth over the last 9 years.

Helping lots of our clients, most of whom are local people gain Confidence, Peace of Mind and Reassurance about their financial situation.

Making things simple and easy to understand allowing our client’s to get on with their lives safe in the knowledge they can relax and live the rest of their lives without the fear of ever running out of money!

Helping our clients get to this point is really enjoyable for me and I still enjoy my chosen profession as much now as I did when I started advising in 1997.

We, Donna, Lisa and I take great pride in delivering a first class, professional, efficient and friendly Lifestyle Financial Planning Service for all of our clients and their families.

Every new client is a like starting with a blank canvas, different plans, different views on life, different perspectives and ambitions, which makes for a constant new experience every time for me and the client. Keeping everything very interesting.

Our Home in the middle of Hythe

It’s also 4 years now since we got the keys to our current home in the centre of Hythe Village. We loved our previous home on Hythe Marina but this really does feel like home right in the middle of the village.  We see so many people, wave, come say hello and give Norma Jean our mascot a stroke.

Great to see market days when its not raining and the hustle and bustle of Hythe!

Annual Business Audit

We can also report we have just had our annual Compliance Audit and for the 9th year in a row we have been given a big tick from our independent compliance providers giving us a continued clean bill of health to carry on doing what we do best for our clients.

 

Ethics, Knowledge, Organisation, Friendly & Trustworthy

Running our business and growing it like we have are down to some key pillars of principles.

Having great ethics and moral compass, a long standing knowledge of not just the financial services industry but also understanding and knowing people from all walks of life, professions and ages. This 26 years (plus 7 as an effective apprentice beforehand) have been the very best education in helping and understanding people and running a solid and respected business.

 

Being organised and running an efficient business, especially one so highly regulated as ours are essential to deliver the first class service all of our clients enjoy.

 

This is all down to a great team effort, from Donna, Lisa and I. We all know what we do and the cogs we play in the smooth running of our Lifestyle Financial Planning Business, Oyster.

 

We pride ourselves on our place in the community, helping people where we can with a friendly smile and professional values.

Last of all trustworthiness. This is super important when discussing peoples money. It’s confidential, it’s private and we pride ourselves on our reputation earned over many, many years.

 

We are constantly getting phone calls, emails or walk ins from people who have been referred to us by a friend.

This organic growth is testament to what we do at Oyster!

 

What Do We Do?

It is so much more than sorting a pension, setting up some life assurance or investing some capital.

Yes we do all of that and more, but Financial Planning the way we do it is so much more.

 

Clients typically require help when they are at some sort of crossroads in their lives:

We asked a sample group of our clients a while back how they felt after working with Oyster to go through our Lifestyle Financial Planning service, Aspire.

Three words or phrases kept coming up. Confidence, Peace of Mind and Reassurance.

 

Clients said they were Confident they now had a plan to follow, Peace of Mind that their money was invested in the right place, as little tax as possible, correct risk profile and that their families were protected, and Reassurance to know that with sensible assumptions they could live the life they wanted without the fear of ever running out of money!

 

What a great way to make a living?

 

As a lot of you will know, I love what we do, what I do for a living, Donna and Lisa love the part they play in delivering the thoughts and feelings mentioned above.
