10 Years – Feels Like Yesterday

For me the last 10 years since our business Oyster Financial Planning was created, starting in Hythe Marina, have flown by because I am lucky enough to love what we do. Earning a living, essentially helping local people to manage and understand their financial position especially in the area I live in and was born in has been great.
Having advised and helped clients since I started 27 years ago with Standard Life, I have managed to learn what people need to really understand where they are in their lives financially and where they are heading in the future.
When the opportunity to do my own thing in 2014 came along I jumped at the chance to continue my career after 17 years and set up a Lifestyle Financial Planning business in the SO45 area I was born and grew up in. I have loved it ever since and time has flown by.
Helping local people gain a real insight into to what all their earnings, borrowing, pensions, mortgage, investments and lifestyle costs all mean now and in the short, medium and long-term. Our business has grown amazingly well, all organically, from word of mouth, clients who have seen how we work and how it can help them get Confidence, Peace of Mind and Reassurance in their financial life, sharing their experiences with friends and family.
Moving from the Marina in 2019 and buying our current home in the heart of Hythe village has been a great move. As well as clients, new and existing, so many people walk past, wave and pop in to say hello and stroke our little guard dog, Norma Jean. It’s a great area we live in and we love doing what we do here and hope to for many years to come!
