Here at Oyster Financial Planning aka SO45 Online presented a cheque for £5,200 to The Waterside Cancer Support Centre from our recent annual Charity Golf Day which took place in July this year raising £6,200, £1,000 of which was presented to Hythe Sea Scouts.
The Waterside Cancer Support Centre based in Hythe is a very special place with a specialist team offering emotional and physical care to people living with or affected with any type of Cancer. Befriending, counselling and complimentary therapies, such as aromatherapy, yoga, reflexology, and Reiki are provided as non-clinical treatments for patients and their families including children. The Centre really is a friendly and calming place where nothing is too much. Anyone is welcome to just drop by or make an appointment.
The total raised now over the 7 years purely from our golf Day is £41,000 with a high proportion going directly to the Centre and the rest has been all for charities and good causes within the SO45 Postcode. This brings the total raised for local charities to £76,000 in 7 years. When SO45 online was originally set up, the goal was to raise 100k in 10 years. With lots more hard work, we hope to make this target with further projects.
This year’s winner saw Paul Adams win the SO45 Paul Brogan Memorial Trophy. The day was a huge success despite the relentless rain, everyone who took part and volunteered carried on until the end. Next Year’s golf day has already been booked for 19th June 2020. If you are interested in getting involved to help us achieve 100k in 10 years, please contact us at donna@oysterfinancialplanning.co.uk
