SO45 Charity Golf Day 2019 -
Well what a day. Our 7th Annual SO45 Golf Day was a huge success. With the weather not so great, all 68 players joined us for a day of some great golf and possibly not so great.
As always everyone who took part enjoyed the day along with those that joined us for the presentation, raffle and auction and of course the game of heads n tails.
At the presentation we all reflected on why we were there and why we continue every year to support The Waterside Cancer Support Centre part of Wessex Cancer Trust. We received a very heart felt speech from a user of the Centre who described her journey with Cancer and how the Centre has helped her.
Over £6,200 was raised for The Waterside Cancer Centre (and a donation to Hythe Sea Scouts). Thank you every one of you that have to continued to support this event. It really has made a difference. What a great community we live in that’s now £41,200 we have raised from 7 golf days and £76,200 in total from all SO45 Online events! The target is £100,000 in 10 years. 3 years to go people we can do this!! Couldn’t do this with out the golfers, sponsors and raffle and auction prize donations fantastic support
The results of the day were as follows:
Paul Adams won a hard fought competition winning the Paul Brogan Memorial Trophy with 4 players tied on 42 points! Just missing out on count back were Paul Pallister (who shot a gross 68), Steve Worsley and Mike Robinson. Such a great if not very wet day.
Thank you to everyone again and those that volunteer to help make it a success each year.
